Welcome from our Secretary
We are already in week three of the autumn term and much has been happening both locally and nationally. The website was launched at the end of the summer term and will probably be new to many of you.
It may have been a while coming, but I am very pleased welcome you to the Wolverhampton NASUWT website for members! It has been one of my ambitions in my role as Secretary to establish a local website . This is because I think it vital that members of the NASUWT in Wolverhampton have access to a range of information that will support and empower both individuals and groups in the workplace.
NASUWT at national level sends out regular letters, information and advice to members’ home addresses but to be able to consider the information in relation to the local context should enable you to see what national changes will mean to you.
The Officers of Wolverhampton Association and our National Executive members need to know what Wolverhampton members think of such matters as our campaigning strategies; support for members on individual issues and education policy for the future. We hope that the website will be a way in which we can find out members’ views and exchange thoughts and opinions.
We also want to ensure that members have every opportunity to find out about the local Association does and participate in its activities. Opinions about the work of the Association would be very welcome!
I hope that you will find the website a useful source of information; a point of contact for the communication of ideas and suggestions and a means of networking with others who have shared interests and experiences.
Jenny Battell, Secretary, Wolverhampton NASUWT
